PENDIDIKAN KRISTEN DALAM MEMBANGUN KARAKTER REMAJA DI SEKOLAH MENENGAH

Abstract

Recent occurrences within teen-aged has tended to criminal cases; engaging student fight, bullying, raping, which depicted juvenile moral decadence of this nation. This nation need to take a heart and place for developing a character education. This notion brings a refreshment for Indonesia education’s world to overcome teen’s moral decadence problem.Establishing nation character need to be integrated with formal education, so can obtain good value from learners earlier.

School as aneducatingplace, where students are directed bysome efforts to doing or having insight of knowledge (normatively). It will take a more complex learning because driven by final purpose, that is a better deed or personality (operationally). Actually, moral and character learning was not separated from spiritual building because they were as one material learning of Christian Education.  High school curriculum which is Christian Education being apart of, both programmed learning process and otherwise, could develop attitude and establish behavior values as well as good character.

Building teen’s character constitutes to build a pattern of demonstrating attitude which connected one another. That demonstrating attitude is specific characteristic of Christian moral, in such a way that school can define obviously, a successful learning outcome. A bible added curriculum was not sufficient to establish student’s character. Establishing character has to be emphasized carefully and daily life-actualized.
